TODAY'S WOKING/WEST BYFLEET AND AROUND
St Johns and Hook Heath
St Johns is partly rural and partly suburban, with a small shopping centre, a range of places to eat and a medical health centre. Its natural focal point is the common of St Johns Lye where cricket is played in the summertime. There is a selection of first and middle schools, and the extremely popular Winston Churchill Secondary School, which is one of the best equipped in the area. Properties here range from smaller apartments, to 4 and 5 bedroom mid-range houses. The canal runs through the centre of the village, and to the south of St Johns are the wide roads and elegant houses of Hook Heath, which is one of Woking's most exclusive residential locations, with some of the finest homes in the area including many built by Tarrant.
