TODAY'S WOKING/WEST BYFLEET AND AROUND
Mayford and Sutton Green
These are two communities to the south of the borough that grew up as clusters of cottages and farms around their respective greens, and have escaped large scale development. Sutton Green, the most rural part of Woking, is best known for nearby 16th Century Sutton Place, once the base of American oil magnate, Paul Getty. Schools are available nearby, as is Worplesdon main line rail station with trains to Waterloo taking from 33 minutes.
