TODAY'S WOKING/WEST BYFLEET AND AROUND
Kingfield, Old Woking and Westfield
These are neighbouring suburbs to the south and south east of the town. They are well placed for the leisure facilities within Woking Park, Woking Football Club and the Chris Lane Health and Tennis Centre. Woking 6th Form College is located in Old Woking, and the villages are also served by nearby first, middle and St John the Baptist R.C. Secondary School. To the south of Old Woking lie the ruins of Woking Palace, a moated royal residence dating from around the 13th C. This was the birthplace of Mary Tudor in 1514. The properties here tend to range from a small number of 2-bedroom terraced cottages to predominantly 3-bedroom semi-detached houses with (particularly in Westfield and Kingfield) a good number of 3 and 4 bedroom detached properties. There are relatively few bungalows in the Woking area, however there is a concentration of these around Kingfield and Westfield.
