TODAY'S WOKING/WEST BYFLEET AND AROUND
Brookwood
This is the most westerly village in the borough. It has its own main line station (Waterloo 37 minutes) and the Basingstoke Canal runs the length of the village. Within its centre there are a few shops catering for most day-to-day needs with Sainsburys superstore and Knaphill's village centre - about a mile or so away - providing more comprehensive shopping facilities. First and middle school are within the village with the nearest secondary school being Winston Churchill School in nearby St Johns. The M3 is about 10 minutes' drive from here. Most of the properties are older style ranging typically from 2-bedroom terraced cottages to 5-6 bedroom country houses on the adjacent Sheets Heath.
