FOCUS ON LEISURE: Theatres & Cinemas
Rhoda McGaw (Community productions)
Local theatre productions are great entertainment and thoroughly important to the community, not just for those who watch but for those who participate and demonstrate their considerable skills. Woking has strong drama, choral and opera groups, and the Rhoda McGaw is the perfect venue next door to the new Victoria with cafes and restaurants under the same roof. New Victoria Theatre (National standard productions)
This theatre has changed the way that people think of Woking. It used to be that cultural entertainment amounted to a packet of crisps in the back row of the local fleapit. But the New Victoria has transformed that; because it is a modern, capacious and well-designed facility it has become the favoured venue for many pre-West End productions. Many of the shows play to capacity audiences of 1,200 who enjoy comfortable seating in an air-conditioned environment. For the latest programme of events visit the link: New Victoria Theatre
