TODAY'S WOKING/WEST BYFLEET AND AROUND
West Byfleet is the main shopping centre for the eastern end of the borough and contains a large Waitrose supermarket. The area was developed after the opening of the main line station in 1887 and spread until it reached the north eastern edge of Pyrford. Properties here are mostly higher value homes, with a number of more modern smaller properties near to West Byfleet's village centre.
The Marist R.C. First and Middle Schools in West Byfleet and Fullbrook Secondary School are amongst the finest schools in west Surrey. The town is well-placed for travellers having a service from Waterloo (from 26 minutes) and good access to the nearby M25 and A3 linking London to the coast and to the UK's motorways network.
